Tea Party

On labor day, the Tea Party Express bus was in town so my parents, the kids and I made some signs and loaded up in the van to meet it. This part of the freeway isn't normally that busy and it was a holiday so we were shocked when the freeway was backed up. I was worried that we might miss out on all of the fun but then I looked out my rear view mirror and saw this:

and new that we would be just fine since the Tea Party can't start without the Tea Party bus.
We still almost missed out on the fun because there were so many people there they had to turn many away. There just wasn't room. I guess this one had the biggest show (except for D.C. ) with 10,000+ people.
Apparently, not everyone in Illinois is a Obama/tax and spend Congress fan.
I wish I could post pictures of ALL of the signs. Some of them were so clever. This shirt is one of my favorite though:
I'm glad the kids got to come along. I want them to see a peaceful protest and know that if they don't agree with what the government is doing that should speak up.

Love those pictures! Especially that one email that went around. I can't believe that many people showed. Totally awesome. Love the picture of Hailey!

That is so cool! Now the kids can look back and say, "hey I was a part of that!" I think that is AWESOME!(and I'm jealous.=)
