The not so happy

I have to say, the end of February/beginning of March------not my favorite------to say the least.  We are feeling really grateful to be on the upside though.  We are outta here:

Hoping to never return even though it was a brand new hospital (open for only 2 weeks before Alexia's surgery).

We are also grateful that the mass she had removed was NOT cancerous.  We still have things to deal with but a cancerous tumor that size wouldn't have given us very good odds.
Thank you to all of our friends, family and co-workers, who called, visited, texted, emailed, brought dinner, watched kids, sent cards, sent many many gifts and who just simply cared what was going on in the Whetten family!  I can't believe the kindness we were shown.   Even by perfect strangers at the hospital. We will never forget it!

The Amaezing Merlin

Ever had a hotair ballon drop down right in front of your next door neighbors house?  No?  Well now we have.

Early one Saturday morning, the Amaezing Merlin fell out of the sky and landed right on our doorstep.  Fine, so it was in the street in front of our neighbors house.  Close enough.

We got to walk around inside of the deflating balloon

And the kids got help put it away.........and Conal may or may not have been just as excited as the kids to help......

Other news: the Whetten family streak is broken.  BOO!  Conal got stung by a scorpion last night so we are no longer a scorpion-sting free-family.  I wonder if he will still walk around outside, barefoot, in the dark.  hmmmmmmm.  Any bets????

hmmmm.....where to start

Where do you start when you haven't blogged for 5 months???  I guess at Christmas.  So here's the short story.  We went.  We partied with the fam.  We had fun.  Here are a couple of pics:

And once again.......I fear this is the last year that I will have cute matching pj's for the kiddos.  But I thought that last year too. So we shall see.
